Painting A Day At Sea

This series was a self directed project that I completed whilst on a sailboat during a transatlantic delivery. Our trip from the small island of Mallorca, Spain to the Caribbean gifted us with many spectacular skies and flying fish. Each artwork was created daily and I found much of my inspiration from simply observing the incredible sea scape. I completed each piece between my morning and evening watch. Long journeys at sea can often act as a reset and I discovered small joys in observing the sea state and the colours of the sky change through out the day. Each piece measures 7” x 9” inches and is painted in watercolour with a couple splashes of sea water.
